No Hindu-Muslim angle, say cops after Mumbai actor's viral post
A Mumbai-based actor took to social media to claim that he was not allowed to celebrate Diwali in a Muslim-dominated area where he lives.

Vishwa Bhanu, who hails from Patna and works in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani-owned Excel Entertainment, took to Facebook and claimed that his neighbours asked him and his wife to remove diyas and a rangoli by ir gate.

"I am living in a Muslim society in Mumbai Mal Malwani and like last year this year too, people of society start arguing with my wife on lighting up her house today. y were t allowing my wife to light up and making a rangoli on gate outside house. y destroyed lights and crowd forced me to remove lights," he posted on Saturday.

actor took to Twitter to inform PM Modi of issue
actor, who has worked in films like "Special 26" starring Akshay Kumar, "Mardaani" and "Raghu Romeo", also took to twitter to inform PM Narendra Modi of issue. He also approached Malavani police station in suburban Mal and lodged a complaint. Jagdev Kalap, senior inspector at police station, said this was t a "Hindu- Muslim" matter and denied re was any communal angle to it.

"It was a case of a child in locality getting a shock from some Diwali decoration lights put up by Bhanus. neighbours asked Bhanus family to eir put up lights higher or apply tape on exposed part, following which an argument ensued between m," official said. police apparently asked Bhanu's Muslim neighbours to get a candle for his family as a sign of rapprochement. Bhanus told m y didn't want a candle but ded that that matter has been resolved amicably, police said.
