New Delhi: Infosys, one of India's leading IT companies, has revamped its hiring process by moving away from sending job offers via email. The company now requires both freshers and experienced candidates to access job-related documents through its internal system, according to a report by a leading business portal.

Citing sources familiar with the development, the report states that the new approach is designed to prevent fraudulent recruitment practices and enhance the hiring experience for candidates. It also aligns with Infosys’ ongoing efforts to go paperless and streamline the recruitment process. The company’s decision is also aimed at safeguarding applicants from potential scams and ensuring greater transparency.

New Ticker on Infosys Career Website

Visitors to Infosys' career website will now encounter a prominent notice that reads: "Important notice - Infosys offer letter and associated documents are available only on our career site. Candidates can access this using their login credentials. We don't send emails with attached offer letters to our candidates anymore. You can always validate your offer letter when in doubt by following this link - https://career.infosys.com/offerValidation."

Reasons Behind the Change

The move comes amidst growing concerns in the Indian software industry regarding the delayed onboarding of freshers and widespread recruitment fraud. According to Infosys' recruitment vendors, who spoke anonymously to The Economic Times, this shift in hiring practices is expected to reduce fraudulent activities and make it harder for candidates to compare job offers from rival firms.

Moreover, this digital transition supports Infosys' sustainability and workplace transformation goals. The company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report for FY24 emphasized these initiatives, stating: “Our new design focuses on health and wellbeing, productivity, social connect and inclusiveness, while also ensuring environmental sustainability. We are deeply committed to being a well-governed, environmentally sustainable organisation where diverse talent thrives in an inclusive workplace.”
