'No need to raise Tablighi Jamaat anymore': Health Min Harsh Vardhan calls incident 'sad'

Harsh Vardhan stated that there was no need to bring up the Tablighi Jamaat event in relation to COVID anymore since 'a lot' had already been discussed on it

Union Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday stated that re was need to discuss and bring up Tablighi Jamaat event in relation to Coronavirus anymore since 'a lot' h alrey been said and discussed on it. While answering a question posed by BJP leer GVL Narasimha Rao on wher  Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi was a 'take-off' point for Coronavirus in country, Harsh Vardhan stated that he 'feels b' to raise issue every time.

"Eugh has been discussed and debated about it. I feel b to raise this issue every w and n. However, around second week of March, when virus was spreing very fast in world and one and a half month h passed after country reported first case, even till n number of cases in country was very less," he said.

"At that time, this unfortunate and s incident took place. When it took place, re was social distancing followed re. In Delhi, at that time, re was this situation where 10-15 people could t stand toger. At that time, people from over 12 countries came re," Health Minister ded.

Harsh Vardhan revealed that by time information was received a lot of people were removed but a lot h alrey moved before, following which re was a surge in  number of cases across  country. He ded that different state governments and Home Ministry officials h helped a lot.  " contact tracing was done. But eventually, number of cases rose and lockdown was implemented. But re is need to discuss that because a lot of people were traced, quarantined and treated," said Harsh Vardhan.

Hundreds of coronavirus cases and several deaths across country were linked to Markaz area in Delhi's Nizamuddin area, which emerged as a COVID-19 hotspot. Thousands of people from across country and hundreds of foreigners h attended congregation in March. An FIR was also registered against Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Sa and ors under Epidemic Disease Act 1897 in connection with congregation.
