'No one is supporting Bharat Bandh': Yediyurappa on impact of Bandh in Karnataka
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday claimed that no one supported the farmers' call for Bharat Bandh in Bengaluru and other parts of the state.

Amid farmers' call for observing Bharat Bandh across country on Tuesday, which was supported by opposition parties, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday claimed that one supported farmers' call for Bharat Bandh in Bengaluru and or parts of state.
Bharat Bandh which started on Tuesday morning concluded with press conference by farmers unions in evening. Unions contended that Bandh was successful. Swaraj India leer Yogendra Yav stated that bandh was observed at around 10,000 places in 25 states. However, reports state that Bandh has evoked mixed reactions with many places across country open as usual while several places witnessed effect of Bandh. Many places saw opposition party workers forcibly shutting shops and protesting in places where people refused to follow Bandh.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kisan Union's RS Mansa sought permission to hold protest at Ramlila ground in order to avoid inconvenience to people from Haryana and Delhi. Also, farmer leers stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has invited m for a meeting. This invitation comes ahe of sixth round of deliberations between farmers and Centre that is scheduled on Wednesday.
Earlier in day, Haryana CM ML Khattar met Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to discuss farmers' issue. Tomar reassured that laws will t impact MSP mechanism. After meeting, Khattar took to Twitter to slam opposition for fueling protests for political gains.

What are farmers' concerns?
Farmers are of opinion that laws will affect MSP mechanism and APMC Mandi system. Moreover, with freeing of farm sector, farmers think y will be left to mercy of private sector entities. However, government has assured m that MSP and Mandi system will t be impacted and laws would allow farmers to sell ir produce outside of Mandis without involvement of middlemen and commission nts who take away a substantial chunk of revenue meant for farmers. However, farmers are still free to sell ir produce through conventional medium of Mandis system. government also contended that Agricultural Budget and MSP has only increased during Modi government keeping interest of farmers in mind.
