No ring of fire seen from Goa during annular solar eclipse

Many Goans watched annular solar eclipse on Sunday though dark monsoon clouds blocked a clear view at many places. However, formation of a "ring of fire", main attraction of celestial event, was t visible from coastal state.
Many enthusiasts watched celestial event from ir homes due to restrictions on garings. Atul Naik, former president of Association of Friends of Astromy, Margao, said observatory located in Panaji remained closed due to lockdown restrictions.

"We could see eclipse during 11.02 am and 1.24 pm though sky was overcast. We could view all phases of solar eclipse though 'ring of fire' could t be seen in Goa," he said.
Naik said formation of "ring of fire" was observed in most of rrn India. He said many people watched rare celestial event from ir homes through online links and live streaming. For photographers, it was a rare event to freeze in frames.

"This is a lifetime experience for a photographer like me and I did t wanted to miss it. I could many pictures as I perched myself on rooftop of my house from 10 am to 1 pm," said Vivek Naik.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when angular diameter of Moon falls short of that of Sun so that it cant cover up latter completely. As a result, a ring of Sun's disk remains visible around Moon. This gives an im of a ring of fire.
