No state foundation day events in Gujarat due to COVID-19

The Gujarat government did not hold any event in celebration of the 60th foundation day of the state on Friday in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gujarat government did t hold any event in celebration of 60th foundation day of state on Friday in view of coronavirus pandemic.

In his video mess, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani urged people to take a pledge on state's foundation day that y will wear masks, practice social distancing and wash hands regularly to keep coronavirus at bay.

He urged people to celebrate day at home and called upon m to come toger to defeat virus. Rupani also asked people to uplo ir videos of taking pledge to fight COVID-19 on social media and share it with hashtag 'VijaySankalp'.

In a video mess, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel urged people to come toger and free Gujarat from pandemic by observing social distancing rms and wearing masks.

Among many or leers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished people of state on occasion. "Many congratulations to people of Gujarat on Foundation Day. People of Gujarat are kwn for ir determination. Gujaratis gave ir special contribution in many fields. I wish that Gujarat keeps achieving new milestones in future too. Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat," he said.

Gujarat was carved out of Bombay State on this day in 1960.
