Noida Shocker: 50-year-old Woman Strangled To Death By Partner After Break Up, Body Dumped in Field
A 50-year-old driver was arrested for allegedly strangling to death his employer's domestic help with a gear wire and dumping her body in a field in Noida.
Noida: A 50-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by a man who claimed he was in a relationship with her, Noida police said on Wednesday.
The accused, Jitender alias Goldy, a driver by profession, reportedly used a gear wire to strangle the woman, who had been working as a domestic help for over three decades at his employer's residence. After killing her, he dumped her body in a field in Noida.
Police said the murder came to light after their employer, a resident of Panchsheel Park in Hauz Khas, filed a missing person complaint on September 26, stating that the domestic help had disappeared along with some cash.
“She had been working for the complainant for the last 33 years and hailed from Jharkhand ,” the police added.
When police tried to contact the woman, her phone was switched off, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan. Following this, an FIR was registered, and the investigation began.
After police questioned all visitors to the complainant's residence and CCTV footage from the surrounding area was reviewed, suspicion soon fell on Jitender, a part-time driver employed by the family. He worked three days a week, driving the complainant’s 95-year-old aunt to a senior citizens' club. On the day the maid disappeared, Jitender had left the club earlier than usual, raising suspicion, the officer said.
Further investigation revealed that Jitender had also skipped work at his second employer’s residence on the same day. A search was launched to locate him, and police eventually tracked him down.
"Although he initially provided false information, during sustained interrogation, he confessed to killing the domestic help with an accomplice and dumping her body in Noida," DCP Ankit Chauhan said.
Based on Jitender’s confession, police recovered the woman's body, which had been stuffed into a sack and abandoned in a field. The gear wire used in the crime was also found. Jitender told police that he had disposed of the body outside Delhi to avoid getting caught. The Noida police are currently overseeing the postmortem process.
