Odisha CM: 'Police officers misbehaving with public may face demotion'

The Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that any police officials misbehaving with those coming to police stations or hospitals may face demotion

Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik on Saturday anunced that any police officials misbehaving with those coming to police stations or hospitals may face demotion, whereas those seen helping may be promoted starting October 2. This decision of CM comes after newly launched initiative ‘Mo Sarkar’ which will be implemented on Gandhi Jayanti. He also mentioned that officials who will be working on 5-T mantra - techlogy, transparency, teamwork and time leading to transformation will be promoted.

'Mo Sarkar' initiative

Reportedly, CM Patnaik met police officials from 635 police stations across Odisha. He showed m a video presentation asking m to treat people coming to police station with respect. He also asked officials to take phone numbers of people coming to register ir complain and take ir feedbacks through web portal of 'Mo Sarkar.'

“Within 24 hours of registration, an automatic mess would go to registered phone number. Of all registered numbers, I will call up 10 random numbers and ask m about ir experience in police stations. If numbers are t registered due to negligence of police officials, n y can call up a toll-free number of “Mo Sarkar” portal,” said Patnaik.

chief minister said a system of grievance registration will be created for police stations as well as government-run health centers in state. officials in police station who refuse to listen to grievances of anyone, a complaint can be lodged against m before SP and DIG.

Odisha To Promote Tribal-Made Products

CM Patnaik had inaugurated a Tribal World Outlet on September 9 to promote products by tribals on a large scale for consumers. outlet was inaugurated on premises of Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd (TDCCOL), in Bhubaneshwar. outlet is an Apex Co-operative under ST & SC Development, Mirities, and Backward Classes Welfare Department of Odisha.

Online Land Revenue Payment System

In a major relief to farmers and ors facing difficulties in making payments for land rent, Odisha has launched online land revenue payment system in state. CM Patnaik launched system on occasion of 73rd Independence Day in Bhubaneswar on August 15. "This system would provide great relief to farmers who had to run to various government offices to pay land rent," Patnaik said. Developed by NIC Bhubaneswar, system will enable farmers to make payments within minutes and get rent receipts, he said. This is first of its kind initiative by state Revenue department under Odisha government's '5-T mantra' to provide better services to people.
