Odisha gets New Year gift with Bhubaneswar to Cuttack metro line announcement

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stepped into the new year- 2024 with a 26-km roadshow in Bhubaneswar followed by inaugurating phase 1 of the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project worth Rs 6,000 crore.
The metro line project will become a new lifeline for the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar as transport facilities will be eased from Bhubaneswar airport to Cuttack via Trishulia under the project.

During the occassion, the Chief Minister said that the metro rail project will be completed in four years and that the people of the state will avail metro rail facilities. The metro project will have 20 stations from Bhubaneswar airport to Trishulia.
The first phase of the metro rail project will cover 26 km with 20 stations.

Patnaik further added that a master plan for the extension of metro rail to Khurda and Puri has been prepared.
