Odisha Government conducted a random surprise check at district headquarters hospital in Puri, Dhenkanal, and Jeypore on Sunday under the 'Mo Sarkar' initiative

Odisha government conducted a random surprise check at district headquarters hospital in Puri, Dhenkanal and Jajpur on Sunday under newly launched 'Mo Sarkar' initiative. According to an official release, three teams comprising of officials of Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and health department visited hospitals. release furr stated that patients' feedback was taken during checks and a discussion was held with doctors to improve health system.

According to reports, Health secretary Office on Special Duty (OSD) to CM D Kutey and Additional secretary to CM Rita Rani Mohapatra visited Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital (DHH) while Additional secretary to CM, Rupa Rosan Sahu, Joint Secretary Health Yamini Sarangi and Deputy Secretary to CM Maj Swain visited Puri hospital. Furr, OSD to CM Dilip Mohanty, Joint Secretary Health Poonam Guha Kumar and Joint Secretary to CM Aditya Mohapatra paid a visit to Jajpur DHH.

Reports from surprise check

government has taken immediate actions after surprise check at hospitals. According to reports, government suspended Sundergarh's Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) in-charge Pankaj Patel for alleged negligence of duty. Furr, y also issued a show-cause tice to district collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan for alleged lapses in implementing programme in Sundergarh District Headquarters Hospital. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted about actions taken by government.

About 'Mo Sarkar' programme

Naveen Patnaik-led government launched 'Mo Sarkar' initiative in state on October 2 in order to promote transparency in governance. According to reports, programme was launched at all police stations along with 21 district headquarters hospitals and three government-run medical college hospitals at Cuttack, Berhampur, and Sambalpur. However, it is said to be effective at all 30 district headquarters by October 30. Furr, programme is based on philosophy that transparency, teamwork, techlogy and time leads to transformation. Reports stated that under this programme, Chief Minister and or dignitaries will seek feedback from common citizens on kind of response and service y received when y visited government facilities.
