On Dussehra, effigies of Sanatan Dharma critics placed with Ravan

The effigies had labels like "No opposition to Sanatan Dharma" and “Effigy of anti-Sanatani”.

Ramleela committees in Delhi and or parts of country have installed effigies symbolising those who have criticised ‘Sanatan Dharma’. se effigies will be burned alongside those of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghn on occasion of Dussehra on Tuesday.

Some opposition leers including Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leer and Tamil Nu minister Udhyanidhi Stalin recently me comments targeting ‘Sanatan Dharma’, inviting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and people's ire.

"Sanatan Dharm ke virodh ka daman ho" written on an effigy at Aishbag, Lucknow.

Ravi Jain, manager of Shri Dharmik Leela Committee, h said, “It is our trition to burn effigies of social evils during Dussehra. Ramleela is a part of Sanatan Dharma, so this year we will burn effigies of those who oppose it.”

arsh Ramleela Committee visor Satish Garg h said burning effigies of those who are “disparaging and misrepresenting” Sanatan Dharma is not trying to target an individual. “ Sanatan Dharma belongs to people. Speaking against Sanatan Dharma is like insulting everything that emanates from it including Ramleela and Lord Sri Ram himself,” Garg said.

Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nu Chief Minister MK Stalin and a minister in state government, recently caused a storm by comparing Sanatan Dharma with diseases like dengue and malaria and called for its erication saying it was against social justice.
