On Uttarakhand's 21st Foundation Day, CM announces Rs 25,000 for developing Gairsain

On 21st foundation day of state of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, while dressing a program in Gairsain anunced that Rs 25,000 crore would be spent on town's planned development over next 10 years. Chief Minister also anunced an array of measures for Gairsain which was declared as state's summer capital in March, after a long-standing demand.
Rawat stated that a Centre of Excellence will be established under Gairsain Skill Development Scheme besides a mushroom compost production unit re. Along will this, two modern labs will be set up at Government Inter College, Gairsain. All work would be overseen by a committee heed by chief secretary. Uttarakhand Chief Minister also spoke about how several projects h been sanctioned for construction of internal ros and drains in hill town.

This was first time that Gairsain held a statehood day function after it was declared as summer capital. In June, goverr h acceded to tice of turning Gairsain into Uttarakhand's summer capital, a declaration that partially fulfilled a persistent demand of hill people of state. demand h originated since Uttarakhand's movement for statehood in 1990s, with many vocating for Gairsain to be me its permanent capital.
After it was declared as summer capital, Rawat called town 'a symbol of aspirations' that h guided statehood movement, ding that while all political parties h me promises about it, it was BJP that h actually fulfilled promise.
