Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a woman in Bengaluru had a harrowing experience as an unknown man molested her while she was out for a morning walk.

The disturbing incident is said to have taken place on August 2 at nearly 5 am.

A video of the incident has emerged wherein the woman can be seen standing outside a house when a man approaches her from behind. He could then be seen chasing her and groping her on the street.

According to police, the woman, a native of Rajasthan, used to go out for a walk every morning. The woman was subjected to molestation while she was waiting for one of her friends.

The miscreant fled the scene immediately after molesting the woman. Police said the accused approached the victim from behind, hugged her, and forcibly kissed her.  

Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the incident and manhunt for the accused.

Based on the complaint by victim's husband, a case has bee registered against the perpetrator under Sections 76, 78, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police visited the spot and gathering information from the locals.

In a statement, DCP South Lokesh Jagalasar said, "The incident is being taken very seriously, and the safety and security of women remains our top-most priority. A case has been registered, and the accused will be traced very soon and subjected to legal action. In addition to this, in areas where there is a need for increased police patrolling, suitable action is being taken already."
