Outgoing Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan has questioned the plan to provide massage service on trains, suggesting that it may make women passengers feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Outgoing Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan has questioned plan to provide mass service on trains, suggesting that it may make women passengers feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Shankar Lalwani, her successor as BJP MP from Indore, h raised similar objections earlier this week. In a letter to Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal on Friday, Mahajan sought to kw wher ministry h approved Ratlam Division's plan to start a mass service.

"What arrangements will be me to provide this facility given that service would throw up some questions regarding safety and comfort of passengers, especially that of women passengers," Mahajan asked.

former MP also sought to kw wher a mass parlour was being set up at Indore Railway Station. On June 10, Lalwani h written a letter to railway ministry on issue, saying it would t be appropriate to provide mass to passengers on board, especially in presence of women. As per plan, facility will be available on 39 trains originating from Indore, including Dehrun-Indore Express, New Delhi-Indore Intercity Express, and Indore- Amritsar Express.

After Lalwani's letter, Ratlam Railway Divisional Manr R N Sunkar h clarified that service would t include a `full body mass'. Only he and foot mass will be provided, he said. railways will ensure that facility will t make passengers feel uncomfortable, he ded.

Indian Railways on June 8, anunced mass services for passengers on board running trains. service will be me available in 39 trains departing from Indore. This will be first time in history of Indian Railways that mass services will be me available for passengers on board running trains.  Railways will charge Rs 100 each for foot mass or he mass. Three to five contracted persons will travel on each train. proposal was me from Ratlam division of Western Railway zone under New, Invative n-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (NINFRIS). Mass service will t be available during night hours (10 pm to 6 am).
