MASSIVE: 50 lakh armed forces personnel to wage war against plastic on Dec 7
The Army, Navy, Air Force, and the ICG will be out on the streets, markets, tourist spots and beaches on December 7 to carry out a war against plastic

Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will be out on streets, markets, tourist spots and beaches on Saturday, December 7 to carry out a war against plastic. According to officials, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will le a sanitation-med event called as 'Swachhta Day'. events will be organised at Delhi Cantonment on December 7.
50 lakh armed officials to participate
According to officials, all armed forces- Army, Air Force, and Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and or organisations such as Border Ros Organisation (BRO), National Cet Corps (NCC), Canteen Services Division (CSD), Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), among ors will actively participate in 'Swachhta' campaign. Furrmore, re would also be a competition among units.

About 'Swachhta Day' event
According to Ministry of Defence, event is aiming to mobilise people and local communities to participate in plogging events throughout country. It is organised under Swachhta Pakhwa (sanitation fortnight). aim is also to raise awareness among community, collect plastic waste, and keep surroundings plastic-free. Furrmore, it is reported that event's slogan is ''Plastic Se Raksha – Swachhata Hi Suraksha''.

Swachh Bharat Mission
Swachh Bharat Mission is one of flagship missions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was launched in 2014 on birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Furrmore, PM Modi has also said that India has to achieve goal of ending us of single-use plastic by year 2022.
