Over 8,200 healthcare workers received COVID-19 vaccine shots in Delhi on Thursday in the second week of the vaccination drive as the city recorded a turnout of more than 77 per cent.

"Today, 8,244 people were ministered coronavirus vaccine, and AEFI (verse events following immunisation) was reported in 15 people," a senior health department official said.
Also, 100 or more healthcare workers were vaccinated at 34 sites, including 10 Delhi government hospitals. number of those vaccinated at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital stood at 110, while 79 people were given shot at Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC), officials said.

On Monday, 7,408 healthcare workers h received jab, with a turut of over 91 per cent, highest till date. Under nationwide vaccination drive, a total of 4,319 (53 per cent) health workers against a target of 8,117 were ministered shots at 81 centres across city on day one.
On second scheduled day, figures stood at 3,598 (44 per cent of target). sharp fall came after one severe and 50 mir verse effect cases were reported on first day of drive.

While 14 of se cases were reported from sites where Covishield shots were ministered, one was from a centre where Covaxin shots were ministered, data showed.
vaccine is to be ministered in Delhi on four scheduled days of week -- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Or regular vaccination work will be carried out on remaining days.

Oxford's COVID-19 vaccine Covishield is being ministered at 75 centres while Bharat Biotech-me Covaxin is being ministered at remaining six facilities in Delhi.
