'P Chidambaram the Root Cause': CM Biren Singh on Ongoing Manipur Crisis
'When Chidambaram was the Home Minister & Okram Ibobi Singh was the CM of Manipur, they brought a Myanmarese foreigner, Thanglianpau Guite', said N Biren Singh.

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh on Tuesday hit back at Congress leer P Chidambaram for blaming him for crisis in state and accused former Union Minister of being "root cause" of ongoing crisis in norastern state. Manipur CM's remarks comes after Chidambaram's post which was later deleted in which he mentioned about division and alleged present crisis is due to CM of Manipur.
"P Chidambaram is a senior Congress leer and I am surprised to see his 'X' handle mentioning about division and alleging present crisis is due to CM of Manipur. re are a few problems that we are facing due to ignorance of Central leers during Congress time... P Chidambaram is root cause of present crisis," Singh said, claiming that when Chidambaram was Home Minister in n Congress government and Okram Ibobi Singh was CM of Manipur, y brought a Myanmarese foreigner, Thanglianpau Guite.

"When he was Home Minister in n Congress government and Okram Ibobi Singh was CM (of Manipur), y brought a Myanmarese foreigner, Thanglianpau Guite... That person was chairman Zomi Re-Unification Army, which is banned in Myanmar... Here is a photograph where P Chidambam is meeting Thanglianpau... y never cared about North East and indigenous people... present crisis is problem of illegal migrants from Myanmar and y try to dominate indigenous people of Manipur and entire North East... Whatever problem is re in Manipur is created by Congress... y cannot wash ir hands so easily," Manipur CM said.

Earlier today, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram demanded that Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh be removed "immediately." He criticised government for deployment of 5,000 ditional central armed police personnel amid ongoing tensions in Manipur over killing of six innocent people including women and children.

former Union Minister also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that it would be statesmanship if PM Modi visited Manipur and dressed ir problems.
"Rushing 5,000 more central armed police jawans is not answer to Manipur crisis. It is more wisdom: acknowledging that Mr Biren Singh, chief minister, is cause of crisis and removing him immediately. " P Chidambaram said.

Manipur Violence: What Happened So Far
Several Manipur MLAs yesterday passed a resolution listing ir demands including asking central government to review imposition of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) in state.
resolution also said that a mass operation must be initiated within seven days against Kuki militants allegedly responsible for killing of six people including women and children in Jiribam. It also demanded transfer of three key cases to National Investigation Agency (NIA) that are linked to death of one woman who was burnt, killing of six innocent civilians, and killing of a woman farmer.

MLAs in ir resolution decided to declare Kuki militants responsible for killings of six innocent people including women and children to be declared an "unlawful organisation" within seven days.
This escalation comes after six people were found de. In response to incident, Manipur government h initially suspended internet services in seven districts.
On Monday, Manipur government announced an extension of temporary suspension of internet and mobile data services in territorial jurisdiction of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Thoubal and Churachandpur. suspension will continue till 5:15 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Violence erupted in Manipur on May 3 last year following clashes during a rally organised by All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) to protest against demand for inclusion of Meitei community in Scheduled Tribe category.
