Palghar HORROR: Woman Hangs 2.5-Year-Old Son, Commits Suicide Later; Police Probes To Find Cause

Palghar: In a distressing incident in Maharashtra's Palghar, a woman allegedly killed her 2.5-year-old son by hanging him from a tree and later committed suicide sending a shock wave in area. A senior police official of Palghar confirmed incident on Friday saying that bodies of both mor and son were sent for post-mortem and were later handed over to family. 

After an initial inquiry, Palghar police have registered a case into matter and initiated a probe to ascertain cause of incident. 

A senior police official on Friday said that while incident occurred on October 23, police registered a case into matter on Thursday following a probe. 

deceased were identified as Savita Rakesh Medha (22), a resident of Patilpa, and her son Rutik, who were found hanging from a tree in village. villagers sent an alert to police spotting two bodies hanging from tree. Inspector VB Mutak of Talasari police station said that police initially registered a case of accidental death and initiated a probe.

Investigations revealed that woman h first hanged toddler from tree and hanged herself, official said, ding that motive for extreme act is yet to be ascertained.

police have registered a first information report under section 103(1) (murder) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against woman, he said.
