In a press conference on Saturday, Krantikari Kisan Union President Darshan Pal said that protesting farmers will hold a tractor pare in Delhi on Republic Day if ir demands are t met. farmers union leers on Friday have alrey said that y will have to take firm steps if government does t take a decision in ir favour in next meeting scheduled for 4 January. y have said that y will anunce dates for shutting all malls, petrol pumps in Haryana after January 4.
On Saturday, farm union leers said, "On January 23, we will hold marches towards Goverrs' Houses in different States, and 'tractor Kisan Pare' will be held on January 26 in Delhi, parallel to Republic Day pare.

In previous round of talks, Union Ministers - Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal and Som Parkash joined 40 farm union leers to partake in ir food during lunch break at 7th round of talks between Centre and farmers. As per previous talks, farmers have refused to partake in government's food, insisting on bringing ir own food to Vigyan Bhawan.

Protests against farm laws
From what started as a scheduled protest in national capital on vember 26 and 27, 2020, thousands of farmers are still protesting at borders of Delhi against Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. While Centre appealed to m to shift to Nirankari Samagam Ground in Burari, only a section of farmers heeded this call. Apart from 6 rounds of meetings that took place between Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar and farmers' leers, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also met m on one occasion.

During deliberations held on Tuesday, Centre agreed t to penalise farmers for stubble burning and to continue present mechanism of giving subsided electricity for agricultural use. Maintaining that talks were held in a cordial atmosphere, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar appealed to farmer leers to send home elderly, women and children given chilly winter season. Meanwhile, unions rejected Centre's offer to form a committee to examine agrarian laws. next round of discussions on January 4 will focus on three farm laws and MSP. PM Modi and or BJP leers have started a massive outreach programme to highlight benefits of farm laws.
