Partial solar eclipse 2022 to be visible from India today: Here's where and when to watch

A day after Diwali, a partial solar eclipse will be seen today when the moon will come in between the sun and Earth, blocking the sun's light reaching Earth

Several places across India will witness one of exceptional celestial events. A day after Diwali festival, a partial solar eclipse will be seen today (October 25).

According to a report, eclipse will start in late afternoon before sunset and be visible in most places. A solar eclipse forms when moon comes in between sun and Earth, blocking sun's light from reaching earth. A solar eclipse occurs as a result of moon's show falling on earth as three heavenly bodies form a straight line.

According to reports, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, along with north-eastern cities of Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Sibsagar, Silchar, and Tamelong, among ors, won't be able to see occurring. 

Solar eclipse 2022 timings

Furrmore, in Delhi, Moon will cover almost 44 per cent of Sun at time of greatest eclipse, while, 24 per cent in Mumbai. eclipse will last 1 hour and 13 minutes in Delhi and 1 hour and 20 minutes in Mumbai. In Chennai and Kolkata, eclipse will last for 31 minutes and 12 minutes, respectively. As per reports, it will start at 4:49 pm and go till 6:49 pm.

ditionally, in nation's northwest, Moon will block Sun to a degree of between 40 per cent to 50 per cent during total eclipse. In or regions of country, percentage coverage will be lower than figures mentioned above. 

Notably, it is not vised to look at eclipsed sun with naked eye, even for a little duration of time. Even if sun is mostly blocked by moon, it will still result in permanent eye damage and even blindness. With use of suitable filters, such as solar viewing or eclipse glasses, telescopes, and ors, it is safest and vised to see solar eclipse.

Before even looking up at sky during a solar eclipse, NASA vises wearing eye protection. 

Furr, inste of solar viewing or eclipse glasses, it is not safe or recommended to wear regular sunglasses. Avoid using camera to capture eclipse. If one is not wearing proper eyewear, one is constantly at risk of having your eyes damaged by Sun's strong rays.
