Patna Horror: Woman Throws 4-Year-Old Nephew From 3rd Floor, Then Commits Suicide
In a horrific incident, a woman in Patna threw her 4-year-old nephew from the third floor of their residence, then jumped off herself and committed suicide.

Patna: In an extremely shocking incident, a woman from Jayaprakash Nagar in Jakkanpur Police Station area of Patna committed suicide but before taking this step, she threw her 4-year-old nephew off the third floor of their residence. The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday morning when the rest of the family members were fast asleep.

A woman, Sanju Devi, who had come to her brother-in-law's house with her husband Rajiv Ranjan after Chhath when on Thursday morning, she picked up her four-year-old nephew Ayansh from beside his grandmother where he was sleeping.

She took the four-year-old kid and threw him from the third floor of the house and after that, she jumped off the third floor herself and committed suicide. The family woke up after hearing the screaming and the commotion to see the bodies of both the aunt and the nephew lying on the floor.
Both of them were taken to the hospital but they succumbed to their injuries, died while undergoing treatment.

Husband of Deceased Termed Her as ‘Mentally Ill’
Following the horrific incident, the police reached the spot and in a statement to them, the husband of the deceased and her in-laws said that Sanju Devi was mentally ill. The family also said that Sanju Devi had two children - a two-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter but she felt that her brother-in-law Avinash's son Ayansh received more love and respect from the family. This is why, out of jealousy and grudge, she killed her nephew and then committed suicide herself.

On the contrary to what the deceased's husband and in-laws have to say, her own family has denounced the ‘mentally ill' claim and has instead held Sanju Devi's husband and in-laws responsible for the death of their daughter. According to Sanju Devi's father, she had been facing harassment over dowry for the last four years and despite the husband-wife reaching a compromise, her in-laws kept troubling her.

However, the accused's husband has denied these allegations and has maintained that his wife and nephew died after falling from the third floor of the residence.
