Paytm employee in Gurgaon tests positive for Coronavirus; staff advised to work from home

On Wednesday, Paytm announced that it would be shutting its Gurgoan office for two days after a Paytm employee was tested positive for Coronavirus.

On Wednesday, Paytm anunced that it would be shutting its Gurgoan office for two days after a Paytm employee was tested positive for Coronavirus. Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led Fintech company also anunced that it had advised all its colleagues to work from home for a couple of days. Currently, efforts to sanitize office are underway. employee had allegedly returned from Italy recently.

"One of our colleagues based out of Gurgaon office who recently returned from Italy has sadly been tested positive for Coronavirus. He is receiving appropriate treatment. As a precautionary measure, we have suggested his team members to get health tests done immediately," said an employee of Paytm, quoted by News ncy ANI.

Coronavirus cases rise in India 

On Wednesday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan revealed that 28 people had been confirmed Coronavirus-positive in country, including in New Delhi. He said that out se 16 were Italian Nationals. y have been sent to Indo-Tibetan Border Police's (ITBP) quarantine facility in Chhawla. Following this, two more cases have come to light, including Paytm case.

28 also include six family members of Delhi man who was infected with coronavirus who were also tested positive for virus that has killed more than 3,000 people globally so far.

"On conducting contact tracing of person tested positive in Delhi, we came to kw that he infected 6 members of his family who are in Agra. All 6 members tested positive for coronavirus," Harsh Vardhan said.

To control spread of deadly virus in country,  Centre has w started universal screening of all passengers from incoming international flights at airports. Global deaths due to coronavirus outbreak rose above 3,000 with new count in China mainland rising to 2,912. deadly virus, that originated in China late last year, continues to spread around world and has infected more than 91,000 people gloablly.
