Pet dog in Odisha fends off cobra, saving the life of his master & family

It is said that a dog is a man's best and most faithful friend. This was proven true when Shankar Pras Tripathy and his family were saved from vemous fangs of a dely cobra by ir pet dog, whom y fondly call "Doggy". According to reports, pariah dog was quick to alert  family of presence of an intruder and fought snake for half-an-hour before killing it.

'Doggy' to rescue..!!

In a peaceful town of Jeypore in Koraput, Shankar Pras Tripathy was enjoying a lazy Sunday afteron when he heard Doggy barking. When family came out, y saw ir pet dog in middle of a fierce battle. Upon realising that a foreign intruder was trying to slir its way inside house, Doggy confronted would-be intruder, which turned out to be a giant cobra, and started barking and fighting with it.

Intense Fight!

Alerted by barking and commotion, Shankar Pras and his family came outside to investigate. What y found was site of an epic battle between Doggy and a giant cobra who was barking and pouncing on vemous snake. Tripathy himself said that he was momentarily shocked by sight that he described as 'Incridible" and was stunned for first few minutes of battle.
intense fight lasted for roughly 30 minutes before dog mand to kill cobra and tear it into two pieces. During fight, Tripathy said that he was worried about Doggy and feared that snake might bite him and he would die. However, dog seemed fine and was doing okay next morning as well. During fight, dog pounced and avoided every attempt me by snake to bit him. This is a story of a miraculous escape!

Thankfully only life lost in this ordeal was that of snake, while both family of six and dog are safe and sound.

This heroic story is t an isolated one. Last week in a similar incident that occurred on outskirts of Bhubaneswar, a dog called "Len" saved his master's two grandchildren from a snake in a similar fashion.
