Shramik Special Trains row: Piyush Goyal hits out at MVA govt, urges for full cooperation
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal urged the Maharashtra government to fully cooperate in ensuring that the distressed migrants are able to reach their homes

Hitting out at Uddhav-Thackeray led Maharashtra government, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal urged govt to fully cooperate in ensuring that distressed migrants are able to reach ir homes. This comes after war of words between Centre and Maharashtra government escalated on Monday after Railways Minister Piyush Goyal lashed out at latter for t giving list of migrant workers so that 125 Shramik Special trains could be operated from state to ferry m back to ir native places.
Taking to Twitter, Goyal stated that on request of Maharashtra government, 145 Shramik Special trains were arranged and 50 trains were to leave till 3 pm. However, only 13 trains have departed due to lack of passengers. Expressing distress over plight of migrants, Railway Minister n urged Maharashtra government to t cause furr delays as it will affect entire network and planning.

Earlier on May 24, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray contended that Centre did t take any steps initially when Maha Vikas Aghi government h requested arrangements for return of migrant workers to ir native places. According to him, action was taken only when situation got worse. Revealing that he h sought 80 trains daily for migrant workers, Thackeray alleged that only 50% of trains were being permitted.

Piyush Goyal As He Quashes Maha Govt's 'baseless' Claims
Piyush Goyal has remarked that Maharashtra ministration has 'collapsed' and state lacks 'leership.' Reflecting upon allegations levied by Maharashtra government on crunch of Shramik trains provided by Railways, Goyal labelled m as 'completely baseless.' Railways Minister also claimed that Uddhav Thackeray has never called him during entire period of COVID-19 crisis so far and inste he has been in touch with NCP supremo Shar Pawar, state Chief Secretary and or dal officers.
Speaking to Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Piyush Goyal alleged that in past five days, 65 trains to Maharashtra have been cancelled because state government could t facilitate transport of passengers to railway stations. Reflecting upon his choice to tweet, rar than calling state government officials, Goyal stated that he thought it was better that people kw what 'reality' is.
