Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday deliberated on reforms required in education sector, including National Education Policy (NEP).

Special emphasis was given on use of techlogy in education sector and enhancing learning and apting by use of techlogy such as online classes, education portal and class-wise brocast on dedicated education channels.

Several educational institutions have used online tools to help students with ir syllabus during coronavirus-induced lockdown which has w been extended for two more weeks beginning May 4.

According to HRD Ministry, National Education Policy was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992.

It was decided to usher in education reforms to create a vibrant kwledge society by ensuring higher quality education to all, this making India a "global kwledge super power', a government statement said.
