Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared his best wishes to fellow citizens on occasion of Bhai Dooj. He posted a Hindi mess on micro-blogging site Twitter which re, “Best wishes to all of you on occasion of Bhai Dooj, a symbol of affection and love between brors and sisters. This auspicious occasion should furr strengn mutual relations.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings on Bhai Dooj. “Many wishes to all of you on  auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj,” tweeted Shah. He also shared a cartoon poster giving same mess.

Union Textile and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani also tweeted her wishes on Bhai Dooj. “Heartfelt greetings to fellow Indians on Bhai Dooj, a festival dedicated to unwavering bond love and trust between brors and sisters,” said Irani in a Hindi post. Transport Minister Nitin Gkari also shared his best wishes.

Delhi government's scheme of providing free rides for women in Delhi public buses began on Tuesday with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wishing female residents on 'Bhai Dooj'. Manish Sisodia said in a tweet in Hindi, "Free-ride for women in Delhi buses has started from today. Congratulations Delhi! Apart from women's safety, it will also increase role of women in Delhi's ecomy..."
