PM Modi inaugurates Rs 20,000 crores worth of projects in TN

In a first travel of the year 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Tamil Nadu on Tuesday and inaugurated Rs 20,000 crores worth of projects.

Chennai: In a first travel of the year 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Tamil Nadu on Tuesday and inaugurated 20,000 crores worth of projects. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Trichy district in Tamil Nadu earlier today to participate in a number of events including a convocation, and a public meeting inaugurating several projects and dedicating completed projects to the people of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who landed in Trichy at 10 am was welcomed by Chief Minister MK Stalin, Governor RN Ravi, Higher Education Minister Rajakannappan, Minister of State L Murugan, and BJP State Chief K Annamalai.

In the first event, at 10.30 am Prime Minister Modi attended the 38th convocation function of Bharathidasan University and distributed the degree certificates to 33 students which was hosted by the Governor / Chancellor Governor RN Ravi along with Chief Minister MK Stalin and Higher Education Minister Rajakannappan.

Later, at around 12 noon, Prime Minister arrived at the Trichy international Airport and viewed the new terminal that has been built at a cost of Rs 1,112 crores. He even discussed the facilities that have been built in the new terminal with the Airport authorities and the steps taken to ensure safe and easy travel for the people.

Following that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a government event that was organized to launch new projects. An extremely grand event where around 10,000 people attended it was organized by the state government. Prime Minister Modi in this event first inaugurated the new terminal of the Trichy International Airport. 

Post that, he inaugurated a hostel named ‘Amethyst’ that has been built in 1.2 lakh square feet area that would accommodate 560 students under a cost of Rs 41 crores inside the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus in Trichy. 

Later, PM Modi also inaugurated several railway projects including the dual railway line projects from Salem Magnesite junction - Mettur Dam which is a 41.4 km stretch and a 160 km stretch from Madurai - Thoothukudi. 

He also inaugurated the railway lines between Trichy - Manamadurai - Virudhunagar, Virudhunagar - Tenkasi, Sengottai - Tenkasi, Tirunelveli - Tiruchendur and dedicated them to the people.
