PM Modi being conferred with two awards by UAE and Bahrain on his 3-nation tour was contrasted by Pakistan PM Imran Khan chauffeuring the Arab monarchs during their visit to the cash-strapped nation, amid the strained relationship between both the neighbours, India and Pakistan.
PM Modi was awarded '
On one hand, amid the conflict, while PM Modi was embraced by the Arab world with the strongman Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan himself putting the gold medal over the Indian Prime Minister's neck, on the other hand, Pakistan PM Imran Khan was seen driving the Arab Crown Prince in a Mercedes to the Pakistan Prime Minister House during putting the status quo coherently into perspective.
Here's what netizens had to say:
Pakistan seeks global support, receives rejection
In a desperate attempt to internationalise the Kashmir issue, over the abrogation of Article 370 and the subsequent communication blackout in the valley, a rattled Pakistan sought world attention to the matter by alleging a systematic attempt of 'ethnic cleansing' in the valley of the Muslim community by the PM Modi led government, however only found silence in return.
It told the international community to support Islamabad over Kashmir saying if it has the moral courage and that it should end New Delhi's use to 'greater military force against' the Kashmiris. Fearing large scale violence in the Valley, the Pakistan prime minister wondered whether "the international community have the moral courage to stop this from happening?"
However, the global community, including the West and the Arab world is shunned Pakistan and called the Kashmir issue a 'bilateral issue' between the two neighbour nations. Even the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) maintained their mum over the issue.
Pakistan's effort, through their 'all-weather friend' China, to rake up the issue at the UNSC went downhill as well, after the permanent countries including the US, Russia, UK, and France maintained that the issue should be resolved bilaterally. In fact, on Friday, United Nations Meet on Safety of Religious Minorities in New York called out Pakistan and China over the abuse of minorities such as Ahmadis, Christians, and Uighur Muslims respectively in these nations. The UN Meet on Safety of Religious Minorities laid bare the bigotry and abuse against minorities in of Pakistan and China.
Pak PM Imran Khan chauffeuring Arab monarch
Pakistan on June 23 received Emir of Qatar in Islamabad and was seen chauffeuring him around during his two-day visit to Pakistan. However, this was not the first time that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has gone out of his way to chauffeur Arab monarch, as a similar incident was recorded back in February when Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was on a bilateral visit to Pakistan, wherein he chauffeured the Saudi Crown Prince to his official residence on arrival.
Abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir
PM Modi led- BJP government abrogated Article 370 from the valley, taking away the special status provided to the state and subsequently put the state under a communication blackout, deployed heavy troops to maintain unrest in the valley propelled by Pakistan, backed by PM Imran Khan-led government. The government even bifurcated the state into two and gave it the status of Union Territories.
