PM Modi chairs meeting to discuss air pollution & cyclonic conditions
PM Modi on Tuesday chaired a meeting in which the situation pertaining to high levels of pollution in north India and the cyclonic conditions was discussed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a meeting in which situation arising out of high pollution levels in rrn parts of India was discussed. official Twitter account of PM’s office mentioned that re was also a review of situation related to cyclonic conditions in western region of India. This follows review undertaken by Principal Secretary to PM on Monday in which Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi participated.

Principal Secretary to PM reviews measures
Earlier on Monday, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi PK Mishra on Monday conducted a review of measures taken by states of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi to combat menace of air pollution. He sought details from respective Chief Secretaries regarding measures taken in cases of fire and crop burning in last 24 hours. Focusing on need to pre-empt situation, he opined that a mechanism for immediate action had to be created. Furrmore, he also appreciated efforts of everyone in this regard. Mishra mentioned that after taking short-term measures, a system would be put in place for a permanent long-term solution.

Cyclone Maha
present danger facing western India, especially Gujarat is Cyclone Maha which is expected to make a landfall on coastal region of state between Devbhumi-Dwarka district and Union Territory of Daman and Diu in early hours of vember 7. 15 additional teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and many Naval units have been put on standby for any eventuality. Both Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Union Cabinet Secretary have taken stock of administrative preparedness in current situation. Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that Cyclone Maha is expected to weaken from a ‘severe cyclonic storm’ to a ‘cyclonic storm’.
