PM Modi dials Bhutanese counterpart, assures all support to minimise COVID-19 impact

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with his Bhutanese counterpart Lotay Tshering on April 16 where leaders exchanged thoughts on evolving coronavirus situation. Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Modi expressed his admiration for Tshering for leading from front in fight against pandemic.

Both leaders discussed regional situation in wake of COVID-19 and updated each or on steps being taken by ir governments to control its effects. y also expressed satisfaction over progress made in implementing special arrangements agreed on March 15 between leaders of SAARC countries.

India-Bhutan ties

Referring to timeless and special nature of India-Bhutan ties, PM Modi assured Tshering that India would provide all possible support to Bhutan for minimising health and ecomic impact of pandemic. In response, Bhutanese leader thanked PM Modi for leading anti-COVID coordination at regional level while fighting health crisis in a “large and complex” country like India.
