After ir joint dress to media on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted German Chancellor Angela Merkel an exquisite handloom Woollen Khi Stole from Lakh and Ratnam Pen. Merkel, who is on a two-day visit was received by 
PM Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan where she was accorded a ceremonial welcome after arriving in national capital on Thursday night.

Call of Lakh

As per description, gift is "an exquisite handloom Woollen Khi Stole from Lakh. yarn is hand-spun using finest sheep wool, on a tritional Charkha, by native Lakhi women, in harsh winter months, in ir beautiful mountaius homeland, of which finished Stole is a warm reflection. An intricate tritional Lakhi border pattern & four corner motifs, in dark wool, orn Stole. Stole is a reflection of simplicity, purity & tenacity of Mahatma Gandhi and people of India’s Youngest Union Territory. It is true, Call of Lakh."

Ratnam Pen

As per description, " pen is said to be mightier than sword. This would perhaps t be more appropriate for anyone but Mahatma Gandhi - a n-violent, ncooperative, satyagraha, who wrote over 31,000 letters in his quest to take Indian to its Freedom, to its Independence. Many of se letters were written using pen that was me for him in 1934 by VK Ratnam, (originally from a family of goldsmiths in Rajahmundry) by using indigeus materials which were based upon Mahatma Gandhi’s request to him to create Sweshi Products - be it a pin or a pen.
