New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, inaugurated first-ever Bodoland Mahotsav, a two-day mega celebration on language, literature, and culture to sustain peace and build a Vibrant Bodo Society. dressing garing at event, PM Modi also greeted nation on auspicious occasions of ‘Kartik Purnima’, ‘Dev Deepavali’, and 555th ‘Prakash Parva of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji’. prime minister also acknowledged 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, which is celebrated as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’.
Expressing his delight in inaugurating Bodoland Mahotsav, Prime Minister Modi asserted that event marked a significant milestone in Bodo community's journey towards peace, prosperity, and cultural revival. He highlighted end of 50 years of violence and beginning of a new era of unity, evident in captivating ‘Ranachandi’ dance performance. Prime Minister praised Bodos for creating a new history through ir struggles and mediation efforts, leing to signing of ‘Bodo Peace Accord in 2020’.

PM Modi stated that during his visit to Kokrajhar region after peace accord, he experienced warmth and love of Bodo people, which he felt again during event. He emphasized importance of choosing path of peace, leing to a bright future for Bodo people. prime minister also said that development initiatives undertaken in Bodoland over last four years have been crucial in bringing about this positive change.
According to Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Bodo Peace Accord has h a profound impact, with over 10,000 youths in Assam laying down ir arms and returning to mainstream. PMO, in its press note, said that peace accord has paved way for or agreements, such as Karbi Anglong Accord, Bru-Reang Accord, and NLFT-Tripura Accord. central and state governments have prioritized needs and aspirations of Bodo community, allocating a special package of Rs 1500 crore for Bodoland's development, PM said.

prime minister also highlighted various initiatives, including SEED Mission for skill development, Bodoland Sericulture Mission, and Bodoland Handloom Mission, aimed at promoting cultural heritage of Bodo community. He also mentioned growth of tourism in Bodoland, which would create new employment opportunities for youth. PM Modi acknowledged contributions of notable Bodo personalities and expressed satisfaction with progress me towards a brighter future for Bodo people.
Prime Minister Modi also emphasized significance of Bodo Peace Accord in paving way for prosperity in entire North East.
