PM Modi is on the Grammy Nominee list

A song on Millets ‘Abundance on Millets’ which has a contribution by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been nominated for Grammy Awards 2024. song has won a nomination in Best Global Music Performance category. Prime Minister Modi worked in collaboration with Indian-American Singer Falguni Shah, who is known by her stage name 'Falu', for song which was sung by singer and her husband Gaurav Shah. song was written by PM Modi, Falguni and Gaurav Shah. song that has stunned audiences talks about importance of millets.

song was released in June this year. Falguni Shah said she is honoured to have got opportunity to collaborate with PM Modi. In a X (formerly Twitter) post, singer furr expressed joy and said she is honoured to write a song to promote millets, help farmers grow and help end world hunger.

Falu said that prime minister h told her that she should write a song with a message on ending hunger during ir discussion on power of music to bring changes and uplift humanity. singer h met PM Modi in Delhi last year after her Grammy win in 2022 when she received an award for Best Children’s Album for her album “A Colorful World”.

Pertinently, year 2023 has been declared as ‘International Year of Millets’ by United Nations, after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by members of United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as 75th Session of UN General Assembly.

Ors nominated are Arooj Aftab, Vijay Iyer and Shahz Ismaily for “Show Forces”, Burna Boy for “Alone”, Davido for “Feel”, Silvana Estra for “Milagro Y Disastre”, Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Zakir Hussain featuring Rakesh Chaurasia for “Pashto”, Ibrahim Maalouf featuring Cimafunk and Tank and Bangas for “Todo Colores”.

“Abundance in Millets” track featuring PM Modi was released in celebration of “International Year of Millets”.

“Abundance in Millets” was created to raise awareness regarding super grain as anor potential key to minimising world hunger, according to a statement on Falu’s website.
