PM Modi Lauds 10 Years of 'Make in India', Says It Has Strengthened Economy
The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to those who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the initiative over the past decade.
New Delhi: On the 10th anniversary of the flagship 'Make in India' initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the collective efforts that have turned the vision into a reality. In a X post, PM Modi highlighted the impact of the program on India's economy, particularly in boosting exports and fostering innovation. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to those who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the initiative over the past decade.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi acknowledged the role of 140 crore Indians in making this program a success, stating, “Today, we mark 10 years of Make In India. I compliment all those who are tirelessly working to make this movement a success over the last decade.”
Building a Self-Reliant Nation
The 'Make in India' program, launched on September 25, 2014, aimed to position India as a global manufacturing hub by attracting investments, promoting innovation, and building top-class infrastructure. Over the years, the initiative has helped boost exports across various sectors, strengthened the economy, and created opportunities for Indian businesses to showcase their capabilities on the world stage.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the broader vision behind 'Make in India', noting how it is aligned with his government's mission to build an "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (self-reliant India). He also assured that the government would continue encouraging reforms that support manufacturing and innovation, driving India towards becoming a developed and self-sufficient nation. "India's strides in reforms will also continue. Together, we will build an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat!" he said.
Promoting Investment and Jobs
Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, also reflected on the journey of 'Make in India', noting that it was launched during a time of economic uncertainty. However, the program's success has reversed this trend, attracting significant investment and creating millions of jobs. Goyal emphasized that the initiative has helped revive investor confidence both domestically and globally, setting India on the path to becoming a manufacturing powerhouse.
