PM Modi lauds film fraternity's contribution towards Mahatma Gandhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the contribution of the film fraternity in propagating the message of Mahatma Gandhi at an event organised at his residence.

dressing a garing of top artistes of film fraternity at his residence in national capital on October 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded ir contribution in propagating mess of Mahatma Gandhi. He was referring to short video ‘#ChangeWithin’ produced by Rajkumar Hirani on Gandhi’s key principles. Revealing that it was his idea to do something on Mahatma’s 150th birth anniversary, PM mentioned that Hirani took up responsibility of bringing toger all artistes for this purpose. Furrmore, he opined that film industry h an important role to play in shaping human beings.

PM Modi said, “Welcome to you all. I have connection with your world. But I thought something should be done related to Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Raju took up responsibility. He gared all of you and you gave him time. When people of country and world will experience Gandhi through this film, your contribution is very big, which you may t be aware of.” He ded, “We do t want to create robots, we want to create human beings. Your role is crucial in developing a human being.”

PM engs with film fraternity
Writing on microblogging website Twitter, PM Modi observed that many youngsters would get to kw about principles of Gandhi via medium of cinema. Moreover, he mentioned that he h a fruitful engment with all personalities on multiple issues. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and filmmakers such as Ekta Kapoor, Rajkumar Hirani, Aanand L Rai, Imtiaz Ali, Boney Kapoor, and Anurag Basu were present on occasion.

Far of Nation
Mahatma Gandhi is considered 'Far of Nation' for his leing role in India's freedom struggle. His most important contribution was that he ensured participation of millions of Indians in mass movements such as Civil Disobedience Movement and Quit India Movement. Furrmore, he focused on ideals of satyagraha and n-violence. His 150th birth anniversary was commemorated at United Nations in a function presided over by UN Secretary-General and involving or global leers.
