Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ initiative via video conferencing, on Friday,. This new initiative aims to construct around 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures across Gujarat .


'Our government is committed to giving new strength to water security through water conservation. In this direction, I will get the opportunity to participate in the launch program of 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Initiative' in Surat, Gujarat through video conferencing today at around 12:30 pm', Stated PM Modi on X.

 

The initiative is part of PM Modi's commitment to making water conservation a national priority and represents a significant step towards effective water management. This initiative enhances his vision for water security through a comprehensive approach involving both community participation and government collaboration.

Building on the success of the Jal Sanchay initiative led by the Government of Gujarat , the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in partnership with the State Government, is rolling out the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ program. The Government of Gujarat has actively engaged citizens, local bodies, industries, and other stakeholders to secure a sustainable water future.

This program will see the construction of approximately 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures throughout the state, designed to boost rainwater collection and ensure long-term water sustainability through strong community involvement.
