PM Modi wishes EU lawmakers a fruitful visit; outlines mega synergies

A 28-member Kashmir delegation from European Parliament visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in his official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. delegation will visit Kashmir on Tuesday. Sources informed that European delegation has met National Security visor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Monday in Delhi. This is first time that India has allowed an international delegation to visit Kashmir after revocation of Article 370 in August this year.

Prime Minister's office released an official statement of meeting. It said that Prime Minister appreciated importance Parliamentarians ir attachment to India. He said that India's relation with European Union is based on shared interests and common commitment to democratic values. PM Modi also expressed his hope that delegation's Jammu and Kashmir visit will be fruitful. He also mentioned success of key programmes of Government including Swachh Bharat and Ayushman Bharat

Members of European Parliament called on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today. Prime Minister appreciated importance Parliamentarians attach to ir relationship with India by visiting right at beginning of ir term.

Prime Minister said that India’s relationship with European Union is based on shared interests and common commitment to democratic values. He said that an early conclusion of a fair and balanced BTIA is a priority for government. Talking about need to strengn engment with EU on regional and global matters, Prime Minister highlighted importance of close international cooperation to fight terrorism. He also mentioned about growth of International Solar Alliance as a global partnership.
Prime Minister, while welcoming delegation to India, expressed hope that y have a fruitful visit to various parts of country, including to Jammu and Kashmir. ir visit to Jammu and Kashmir should give delegation a better understanding of cultural and religious diversity of region of Jammu, Kashmir and Lakh; apart from giving m a clear view of development and governance priorities of region.

Prime Minister highlighted huge jump in India’s position in Ease of Doing Business rankings from 142 in 2014 to 63 currently. He said that this is a massive achievement for a country as ermous in size, demography and diversity as India. Governance systems are today enabling people to move in aspirational direction, he said.
Prime Minister also underlined focus of government on ensuring Ease of Living for all Indians. He mentioned about success of key programmes of Government including Swachh Bharat and Ayushman Bharat. He reiterated India’s commitment to eliminate TB by 2025, five years before global target. He also talked about steps taken for environment protection and conservation including enhanced renewable energy targets and movement against single-use plastics.
