Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal claimed that Ayushman Bharat,  healthcare scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, is a public relation exercise which will prove to be ar "jumla" (rehtoric).

 Aam Ami Party (AAP) termed scheme "ar white elephant in making" and alleged that it covers only six lakh out of 50 lakh families in Delhi.

"Pl re - why Ayushman Bharat is ar PR exercise and will prove ar jumla," Kejriwal said in tweet while referring to  AAP statement.

Prime Minister rolled out Prhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)-Ayushman Bharat from Ranchi Sunday, and termed it a "game-changer initiative to serve poor". health scheme would come into effect from today (Sunday), he said.

"PMJAY-Ayushman Bharat is biggest government-sponsored healthcare scheme in world. number of beneficiaries is almost equal to population of Cana, Mexico and US taken toger," Modi said.

AAP, in its statement, said it was of view a universal healthcare scheme is a must for country and Ayushman Bharat is "t at all a universal scheme and is designed in manner which is bound to fail".

" Ayushman Bharat Scheme, designed by  Modi government caters only to secondary and tertiary requirements. It gives a miss to most important, primary healthcare.  Modi government plans to climb lder of healthcare without laying a foundation; which is one of reasons why  AAP terms scheme as flawed. Without a strong foundation, it is destined to fall," it said.

ruling party in Delhi claimed that re were flaws in newly launched scheme, including that it skips primary healthcare.

It alleged that scheme only for patients mitted to a healthcare facility, it is insurance without infrastructure, re are scope of fraud and corruption, and rules are too soft rules for hospitals.

Delhi model of healthcare is quite opposite to it and AAP government has built mohalla clinics, polyclinics, hospitals and is strengning existing setup so that everyone has a healthcare centre at ir doorstep, statement by AAP said.
