Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed a stunning milestone ahead of his massively significant and high-profile visit to the US, breaching the 50 million follower mark on Twitter. This makes him the only Indian politician to attain such huge reach on the social media platform. He takes the third place after US President Donald Trump with 64 million followers and former US President Barack Obama, who remains at the top spot with 108 million followers. The PMO's official Twitter handle has also crossed over 30 million followers.

PM Modi’s FB has more likes than the population of Canada
It is worth noting the PM Modi remains equally popular on the other major social media platforms as well. The PM comes in second on the Facebook popularity list with a little over 44 million likes, a figure which is more than the population of Canada but falls short of Obama’s 54 million. The PM comes out on top when it comes to Instagram with over 28 million followers, the former US President Obama comes in at second with over 24 million followers with the current US President Donald Trump lagging far behind at just over 13 million followers.

PM Modi’s social media popularity
His YouTube channel has 3.4 million subscribers while his profile on LinkedIn has 3 million followers, his followers on the two respective social media platforms when added up is greater than the population of Singapore. If we are to further add up the total number of followers on PM Modi’s social media accounts on each of these platforms, they reach to a little over 125 million social media followers which is very close to twice the population of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).

Texas ready for ‘Howdy, Modi’
