PM Narendra Modi inaugurates National Museum of Indian Cinema, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Prasoon Joshi among others attend

The honourable Prime Minister of India inaugurated the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai. The gallery is spread across two adjacent buildings that will not only cater to the needs of film critics and enthusiasts but also enthral the visitors through a varied number of visuals, and multimedia expositions about India’s century-long cinematic journey.

PM Narendra Modi including Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and the Central Board of Film Certification chief Prasoon Joshi at the inauguration of National Museum of Indian Cinema were present.

Bollywood celebrities such as Asha Bhosle, AR Rahman, Jeetendra, Randhir Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Parineeti Chopra among others attended the event. 

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the inauguration of National Museum of Indian Cinema stated that film and society are a reflection of each other and that the citizens of the country would have previously watched movies on India's poverty and helplessness, but now India has films that provide a solution to the problem too.

''Today, our films provide a solution for the problems. India is changing and India is finding a solution. If there are a million problems, there are a billion solutions, too,'' PM Modi elaborated.

The creation of the museum has been guided by the Museum Advisory Committee headed by Shyam Benegal, and an innovation committee headed by Prasoon Joshi was also constituted to provide an upgrade to NMIC.
