Police, CRPF, BSF observes national police day

Jammu, Oct 21(PTI) National police day also known as 'police commemoration day' was observed by Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and BSF across Jammu region on Thursday, officials said.

Police observed day by holding a ceremonial pare at Jammu's Gulshan ground where GP, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh took salute of commemoration day pare.

He re out names of 377 martyrs including those from police organisations, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF and SSB.

Jammu and Kashmir Police has been rendering yeoman service to nation and society under hostile, difficult and challenging circumstances, Singh said.

A function was also organised at police martyrs memorial where a large number of people assembled to light candles and pay tributes.

BSF troops also observed day as 'smriti pare' in memory of brave CRPF personnel, who sacrificed ir life on October 21, 1959, in Lakh (Hot Spring).

IG BSF D K Boora laid wreath at war memorial and paid rich tributes to all  brave hearts who sacrificed ir lives in line of duty.

On occasion of day, CRPF jawans and officers of various  battalions and institutions located in Jammu paid homage to martyrs and paid tribute to ir martyrdom.

IGP CRPF P R Ranpise  was presented with guard of honour by ceremonial guard. In his dress, he mentioned  importance of  police commemoration day. PTI AB ANB ANB
