'19% Muslim population in UP but not a single leader': Asaduddin Owaisi

All India Majlis-e-Ittehul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asuddin Owaisi on Sunday lamented that despite constituting 19% of state's population, Muslim community in Uttar Presh does not have a single leer. 

Ahe of Uttar Presh Assembly Polls, Owaisi purported that 'every caste' in UP has a leer except Muslims. Notably, statement from AIMIM leer comes days after reports of a possible alliance with Pragatisheel Samajwi Party (Lohia). 

AIMIM leer likened condition of Muslims in Uttar Presh to 'a band baja party’, and said that "y are asked to play music during marriage processions but "are me to stand outside on reaching wedding venue." 

'Owaisi's decision creating uproar among or parties': AIMIM spokesperson

AIMIM national spokesperson Syed Asim Waqar on Sunday said that main goal of his party is to create political thought and leership among Muslims for progress of ir community and a better future.

Launching a political attack at or parties, Waqar asserted, "Owaisi's decision to give leership to Muslims is creating an uproar among parties which consider this community as ir political slave." Political analyst Parvez Ahmed has pointed out that 'Owaisi factor' will definitely have an impact on assembly elections. 

AIMIM to ally with Pragatisheel Samajwi Party (Lohia) for UP Polls?

Creating buzz of a possible alliance, AIMIM President Asuddin Owaisi h called on former SP leer Shivpal Yav. Since leaving Akhilesh Yav-led party, latter has been heing  Pragatisheel Samajwi Party (Lohia)- a party that he formed on August 29, 2018. While Shivpal Yav has shown an inclination towards an alliance with SP, Akhilesh Yav has not reciprocated his offer so far. At present, he is MLA from Jaswantnagar Assembly constituency, a seat he has been winning since 1996.

After his meeting with Shivpal, Owaisi did not provide any details and said, "Yes, I came to meet him. He is a very big leer". Meanwhile, AIMIM has alrey partnered with  Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha which is being led by Om Prakash Rajbhar. It comprises nine or parties including  Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party, Apna Dal faction of Krishna Patel, Rashtroday Party, Rashtriya Bhagidari Party and Janta Kranti Party.
