3 AAP MPs suspended from Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh says 'repeal laws; talks won't work'

Three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs were suspended from Rajya Sabha by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday after y refused to withdraw mselves from Upper House. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu invoked Rule 255 reby asking MPs Sanjay Singh, SK Gupta, ND Gupta to leave House following uproar created over contentious farm laws. AAP MP Sanjay Singh claimed that agitating farmers had option but to protest as government was being adamant and that situation was becoming worse. Furr, he claimed that protestors were treated like Pakistanis and that situation was growing worse with each day.

Opposition resorted to sloganeering in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday as proceedings of House commenced. Despite government and Opposition parties reaching an agreement on giving a 5-hour extension to discuss motion of thanks and to raise issues on farmers' protest, ruckus ensued inside Rajya Sabha with Chairman Naidu warning members. Vice president Naidu also warned members of House to refrain from making videos of proceedings of Rajya Sabha and circulating it on social media and ted that y were liable to face action if y did so.

Speaking to reporters after being suspended from Rajya Sabha, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that three AAP MPs expressed dissent in Upper House and demanded three farm laws to be repealed. He furr claimed that roll-back of laws were only option as 'talks wouldn't work'.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Congress MP Ghulam Nabi Azad, CPI MP Biy Viswam along with or MPs from BSP, DMK, AITC gave suspension of business tice at Rajya Sabha over ongoing farmer agitation. On Tuesday, Chairman Venkaiah Naidu informed that discussion would be initiated first in Lok Sabha and n subsequently in Rajya Sabha and that refore deliberations will be held on Wednesday. However, Opposition resorted to anti-government sloganeering and std a walkout, forcing house to be adjourned till 11.30 am. Earlier, Rajya Sabha chairman had refused to suspend business of House to discuss farm laws and countered claim that farm laws had been passed without sufficient discussion.

"I've repeated that re was discussion threadbare in House on farm laws. It is a wrong impression being created that re was discussion. With regard to voting, people may have ir own arguments but every party had completed ir part & made suggestions", RS Chairman Naidu said.
