In an unrelenting attack on the Opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has accused the alliance of conspiring to abolish Sanatan Dharma. Responding to the controversy which erupted after DMK minister K Ponmudy’s statement in which he claimed that all 26 parties of the alliance are united in the fight against Sanatan Dharma, Patra asserted that it is a design being implemented by the Opposition. The BJP leader called the Opposition alliance as ‘Adharmi Gathbandhan’.

Taking on I.N.D.I.A, Patra referred to the 14-member coordination committee set to meet at Sharad Pawar’s residence this evening as “Anti-Hindu Coordination Committee”. “But before the coordination, the non-coordination and non-cooperation has begun... This is not a meeting for campaign or seat sharing..Their only aim is to abolish Hinduism... The meeting is on the same topic..They called Hinduism dengue and malaria, corona, leprosy, and AIDS. They compare Hinduism with such diseases. They called it a world menace," said Patra during his press conference.

“It’s not a slip of tongue, it’s a design,” said BJP leader Sambit Patra citing the objectionable references made to the Sanatan Dharma. In a scathing attack on the Congress party, Patra recounted that the grand old party had denied the faith of India by opposing the existence of Lord Ram in the Apex court of India. Taking a dig at former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, the BJP leader said that the entire Opposition is functioning at her behest.

Why AAP is supporting Uddhav’s remarks: Patra

Patra also attacked former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s Godhra remarks and questioned Aam Aadmi Party’s support for the same. Responding to Thackeray’s statement where he said, “"It is a possibility that the government could invite a large number of people for the Ram Temple inauguration in buses and trucks, and on their return journey, an incident similar to that in Godhra may occur,” Patra said that how can one make such statements. Targeting the AAP, Patra said that how a party who sends residents of tirtha-yatra could support such statements.

Responding to AAP leader Raghav Chadha’s statement that a remark from a “small leader” cannot define the official stand of the alliance, Patra asked who is the bigger wheel around which all the parties are revolving. The BJP leader asked if DMK is a small factor, then who is the bigger factor in the alliance.
