Ajit Pawar: 'Shouldn't be any problem in declaring the portfolios by evening of Jan 2'
Speaking to the media, Maharashtra Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar revealed that the portfolios of the ministers could be declared by the evening of January 2.

On Wednesday, Maharashtra Deputy Minister Ajit Pawar revealed that portfolios of ministers could be declared by evening of January 2. He mentioned that list of guardian ministers for 36 districts of state h also been discussed in meetings with Congress and Shiv Sena. According to him, allocation of offices to ministers h also been finalised as per seniority.

Ajit Pawar remarked, “We h a discussion on many issues. After 36 ministers were sworn in day before yesterday, entire Cabinet has come into existence. We h discussions about guardian ministers as well. Also, allocation of portfolios for all 43 ministers was also discussed. re should t be any problem in declaring portfolios by tomorrow evening. It has also been finalised as to which minister will be allotted which office as per seniority.”
'Shar Pawar h finalised portfolios'
Speaking to media, Ajit Pawar denied that he h demanded Home portfolio. He observed that NCP chief Shar Pawar h approved list of portfolios to be allocated to ministers of his party. reafter, he confirmed that this list h been handed over to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Maharashtra Deputy CM said, “In our party, Shar Pawar took responsibility and h finalised portfolios. He h informed me & Jayant Patil. We have given that paper to Maharashtra Chief Minister and portfolios will be allocated according to that.”
Disappointment in Congress camp
Wednesday witnessed a series of meetings between all Maha Vikas Aghi partners to reach a conclusion on allocation of portfolios. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Congress state president Balasaheb Thorat mitted to infighting in his party over Cabinet expansion. He conceded that re was disappointment in Congress ranks as number of MLAs interested in becoming ministers were much more than number of ministries allocated to party.
