Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday apprised Congress president Sonia Gandhi of his Government's performance in implementing the party's election promises

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday apprised Congress president Sonia Gandhi of his government's performance in implementing party's election promises in state. Chief Minister made appraisal during a meeting convened by Sonia Gandhi to review performance of various Congress-ruled states in executing party's plans and policies and assess general governance. Amarinder later told media persons in an informal chat that he had apprised Gandhi that of 161 promises made by his government before assuming power, 140 had been implemented while remaining were in process of being executed.

Successful Implementation of Programs
Chief Minister also informed Congress President of key programs implemented successfully by his government, including employment generation, drug eradication, farm debt waiver and extension of PMJAY health insurance cover to 42 lakh families in state, among ors. According to a statement released by Punjab government, Chief Minister said-
"Gandhi particularly appreciated success of his government in raising on-ground investment to tune of over Rs 50,000 crore during first two years of his dispensation and extension of PMJAY scheme to cover almost entire population in state.y had also discussed problems faced by state government in implementing some of projects of Government of India due to financial and or constraints."

Review Meeting
issue of greater coordination between party and government in Congress-ruled states also came up for discussion, said Chief Minister. He added that he had assured party president that his government was working closely with elected representatives to reach out to people across state and ensure fulfillment of ir aspirations. MLAs were giving regular inputs and feedback to administrative authorities to facilitate greater coordination between m, leading to focused efforts to address problems of people, Amarinder said. Punjab Chief Minister described review meeting as a fruitful exercise to strengn governance system in Congress-ruled states.
