Amid Congress infighting, Salman Khurshid warns critics 'there's no short cut to power'

Amid growing differences within Congress party post its disappointing performance in Bihar Assembly elections and state by-polls, senior party leer Salman Khurshid on Tuesday opposed his fellow party leers seeking ‘introspection’ in within party's leership with a lengthy Facebook post.
Quoting couplets of Bahur Shah Zafar, last Mughal emperor of India, Khurshid urged internal critics to look within mselves for flaws and contended that y should be prepared for a long struggle rar than look for short cuts to regain power, or to air ir grievances in public. He wrote:

“Being excluded from power is t to be casually embraced in public life but if it is result of principled politics it should be accepted with hour… It is ar matter that our principled politics requires periodic re-writing of strategy and logistics, but those cant be done in media for our versaries to checkmate it promptly,” he said.
Salman Khurshid’s comments came in response to Kapil Sibal’s remarks on “ineffectiveness of party” after it failed to win eugh seats in Bihar and help its ally RJD which performed mirably. In an interview with Indian Express, Sibal h said that people of country don’t consider "Congress as an effective alternative." He asked, “if for six years Congress has t introspected, what hope do we have for introspection w?"

Kapil Sibal, one of 23 Congress leers who h earlier written a letter to Sonia Gandhi demanding reforms in party, has sought a fresh review after its defeat in Bihar. However, he came under fire from fellow Congress leers for discussing party’s internal matters in public. From Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to Delhi Congress president Anil Chaudhary, Congress leers have targeted Sibal for seeking introspection in party after its defeat.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Congress Special Committee to assist interim President Sonia Gandhi has been called at 5 pm on Tuesday. meeting of senior members is set to take place through video conferencing but its nda is t clear. Several questions being raised about wher meeting is with regards to Congress infighting.
