As Home Minister Amit Shah visited Mizoram on Saturday., he spoke about contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill in rastern state. He said that changes will be me in bill to make it appropriate for people of Mizoram. He also ded that he met Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga and discussed state's inner line permit (ILP). "As far as Citizenship Amendment Bill is concerned, Home Minister has assured that a new clause (related to inner line permit regime in Mizoram) will be incorporated in draft bill. We will work this out with Home Ministry," CM Zoramthanga, who hes Mizo National Front government in state, told reporters after his interaction with Home Minister.

issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill is crucial in state as Mizoram has been miffed with protest against it. primary conflict is regarding Chakma community, which is believed to have migrated to state from Banglesh. Amit Shah's visit to Mizoram
HM Amit Shah was accompanied by Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Development of rth Eastern Region, and Himanta Biswa Sarma, chairman of rast Democratic Alliance, in his first visit to Mizoram after becoming Home Minister. He inaugurated rth East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition 2019, organised by rth East Council in Aizawl on Saturday. During his speech at ceremony, he highlighted achievements of BJP-led government in rast. Shah, also NEC chairman, assured Chief Minister Zoramthanga of working towards development of state. dressing people, Amit Shah said, "I am very happy to visit India's beautiful state of Mizoram today. In Mizoram, most disturbed state in country could become most peaceful state, it can also become most developed state in country, he said. state h witnessed a two-dece-long insurgency since 1966, which ended with signing of a peace accord between Mizo National Front and Government of India in 1986."
