As farmers' protest against three contentious laws implemented by Centre enters day 22, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called upon members of Union Cabinet at BJP hequarters in national capital to discuss furr course of action. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Piyush Goyal and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were said to be present in meeting on Thursday.
meeting comes just a day after Supreme Court's direction to imple 8 farmer unions as respondents in petitions seeking removal of protestors from borders at national capital. Piyush Goyal and Narendra Tomar have heed six rounds of discussions with farmers' representatives which have ended inconclusively.

PM Modi to dress farmers
Meanwhile, as a part of BJP's massive outreach programme - Kissan Chaupal Sammelan - an attempt to apprise peasants of benefits of three farm laws introduced, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to dress farmers in Mhya Presh on Friday. PM Modi's dress will be telecast in around 23,000 vills, according to official sources. Mhya Presh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with his or ministers, will also participate in event from Raisen district, y said. PM Modi's dress will focus on a relief pack of Rs 1,600 crore to be credited directly to 35 lakh farmers hit by dam to ir crop. Prime Minister has dressed farmers on previous occasions as well assuring m of MSP and highlighting Opposition's attempts to create confusion.

farmers' unions remain undeterred in ir demands seeking complete repeal of three farm laws. Union Agriculture Minister has remarked that Centre is in touch with unions to fix a date for next round of discussions. However, farmers' leers have denied any reach out and are awaiting intimation. Unions from Haryana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Presh have met Tomar and extended ir support to bills amid ongoing nationwide stir against same laws. Recently, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Kisan) extended its support to three laws and called off ir agitation for time being.

While memorandum submitted to Tomar me it clear that BKU (K) backs three agricultural laws, it put forth some suggestions. For instance, it urged Centre to draft ar law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price, alleging that middlemen purchase crops at a lower rate from farmers and sell it to government at MSP. Furrmore, union's leers argued that farmers should be permitted to approach civil courts for resolution of disputes.
