Andhra Pradesh reserves 50% temple posts for women and SC/STs

Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has provided reservation of 50% for women, backward classes, scheduled castes, and scheduled tribes in temple boards

In a major political development in state of Andhra Presh on Friday, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has fulfilled his poll promise of providing reservation of 50% quota for women, backward classes, scheduled castes, and scheduled tribes in temple boards. He has also me it mandatory that 50% of all posts will be allotted to women, including general and reserved categories.

25-member trust board of country's premier Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will w have close to 13 women, including those from general category, backward class, and SC/ ST categories. Out of 25 members, 13 would be from backward class and SC/ ST communities. This development has come days after Andhra cabinet decided to increase TTD board's members, including chairman, from 19 to 25.

amendment of Andhra Presh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institution and Endowment Act of 1987 was bassed by Endowments department special chief Dr. Manmohan Singh. newly ded clause in Act says, "In every Board of Trustees, re shall be 50% reservation out of total number of minated members (after excluding ex-officio members) to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Class communities. Furr, 50% of total minated members shall be women, including women members minated under 50% quota from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes."

Reserves 75% Jobs for locals in all private industrial units

Andhra Presh assembly on July 22, h passed a bill which reserves 75 % jobs for Andhra domiciles in all private industrial units and factories, irrespective of wher se companies receive aid from government. During poll campaign, Jagan h promised reservation for people of Andhra Presh in private jobs.
